Maitreyee is an Assistant Professor in the Kevin T. Crofton Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at Virginia Tech. Her interests lie is algorithm development for materials discovery and uncertainty quantification with applications in space, sustainability and energy. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Prof. Paulette Clancy and Prof. Rigoberto Hernandez at Johns Hopkins University. She completed my Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, advised by Prof. Marco Panesi. Maitreyee's work has been recognized by multiple awards and honors, including Mark O. Robbins Future Faculty Prize from JHU and the Rising Stars in Aerospace from MIT. She is committed to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM through mentoring, outreach, and service activities.
Apart from research, Maitreyee love dancing and teaching dance (watch my students perform). She also enjoys practicing yoga, playing tennis, hiking, swimming and playing the piano.
